Can The Maker repair what he makes? 26 January 2010 12:25 pm sinx

I've had some bug fixes for the 3.00 release stored away for a little while now and I thought it was about time to make it available as a partial, beta release.
You can find MapMixer 3.01 on the UT3
downloads page. As indicated, you will require the full 3.00 Release to be installed first.
This beta version is dedicated to my dislike for Console Gaming, Checkpoints and
The Great Australian Firewall.
MapMixer 3.00 Final Release 4 December 2009 10:45 am sinx

It brings me great pleasure to announce that MapMixer 3.00 has been elevated to final release status.
Yes, it's true - this is not a joke! Perhaps only for the reason I couldn't think of anything humorous to write about the number 6. ;-) Although it was suggested to me that I get the final release out before the world ends in 2012. :P
There was a time, at the very beginning of this project, where I was faced with significant technical challenges and I seriously thought MapMixer for UT3 would not be possible, for very good reasons. The fact that I was able to accomplish all that I originally wanted and more is a testament to not giving up on something you believe in - even when things look bleak. It's been a great deal of work but its also been great fun and I'm very happy with the results.
Unreal Tournament has just turned 10 years old and its been more than a privilege to be in a position, like so many other people in the UT Community, to return back something to the game that has given so much to us all. Long live UT!
I'd like to thank everyone who has been involved in testing - both of MapMixer and their patience levels, waiting for this day to come. I've received a lot of encouraging feedback from people, and I'd like you all to know that its helped spur me on.
Will there be a MapMixer 3.10? Well, I have a wishlist but whether this eventuates, only time will tell.
Have fun, and thanks again to everyone for their support!
You can find MapMixer 3.00 on the UT3
downloads page, along with a link to some MapMixer UT3 Loading Screen replacements, kindly made by McTecman (Check them out!).
A Final Step of Randomness 8 November 2009 12:20 pm sinx

But wait...It's another Release Candidate! \0_0/
This time it's number 5, which apparently is also the Holy number of Discordianism. I guess if you consider the randomness that MapMixer can bring to the game, then it could be considered a tool of chaos - albeit controlled chaos, which for some reason appears to be a fascination of mine.
Back sometime in the early 90's I wrote a program for the Amiga to generate controlled 'random' midi events for creating music. Here I am now doing a similar thing with match parameters for a fps game. Is it indeed a deep psychological defect that forces me to bring chaos to order?
So, my apologies for this current discord between my promise of a full public release and this release candidate. Chaos can be both wonderful and catastrophic, even though it can never be defined by either of these.
All things happen in fives, or are divisible by or are multiples of five, or are somehow directly or indirectly appropriate to 5.
The Law of Fives is never wrong.

After nearly 2 years, I'm pretty happy with the current state of MapMixer for UT3, and I think it's ready for a full 3.00 release. I have yet more things I wish to incorporate but I'm successfully holding them back :] MapMixer 3.00 is more than ready.
So here's the final call for any possible bugs that need to be reported. Please refer to my guidelines for reporting bugs, which can be found in the text file distributed with the current Release Candidates. A large percentage of people fail to read and follow these simple guidelines and it only serves to slow things down even more.
I'm now more eager than ever to get a final release out, so it won't be long.
